Advert Analysis - PlayStation 5
This is an advertisement for the new gen PlayStation console the PS5. This advertisement focuses on advertising their new High-spec console with its fast loading speed, Integrated I/O allowing creators to design games in ways never before, runs on 120 FPS.
The advert was made to advertise the new technology of the new PS5 console and its launch, how they interpreted it through 3D animation & rendering to make it look futuristic. They use 3D animation & rendering to show the interior and exterior of the PS5 from multiple perspective. They used the models of the consoles showing the exterior and interior of the design, and using motions particles to mimic the motion of certain action when playing giving the players a sense of touch makes it feel more immersed into the game. They added cyber-like music and sounds to make it feel more futuristic while showing the specs. They mention each technology that was implemented into the product like 3D sound, haptic feedback, faster leading speed and etc. The that the product is represented by a futuristic animation and mentioning its spec and features us viewers to build an identity of the brand in their heads as a futuristic brand.,
Representation
There is a lack of representation in the advert where there are no star appeal which allows to interpret that their customers are not only boys which represent stereotypical play station users. Here users picture them selves using the PS5 rather than seeing an actor that does not look like them for example (female minority, old people). In the advert it can be seen that the motions that its making and the sound by pressing a button representing the adaptive trigger through motion of particles. This shows that the company are elevating the gaming experience of the players by giving them an even better connection to game by implementing the sense of touch in the game to the real world.
Audience
In the advert, all the new and improve spec that were implemented to the new console. This attracts everyone who wants to have a new and improve gaming experience by buying the new PS5 console that runs on 4K, 120 FPS, 3D sound, haptic feedback, and fast loading. The fact that there are no actors means that there are broad audience which doesn't have to project themselves into the PS5.
Industry
The advert was made possible through 3D visuals to create the models and interior of console, and following up with cyber-like sound effects to representing it be futuristic. They did not use any star appeal for the advert they could have used some of their iconic character or gameplay and comparing it to the old model to see how much more advance this new model is. The advert even added their iconic slogan "Play has no limits" which gives the impression that they never disappoint with the quality of their product.
